The Grebe info centre and the Vrbje pond are very popular sites, frequently visited by the locals from the Žalec region and visitors from elsewhere. From spring until autumn, numerous activities for children are available, such as craft workshops, birthday celebrations, and educational workshops. Visitors can rent Nordic walking poles and acquire a variety of informational and promotional materials about the pond. Children can make drawings while adults can enjoy the natural setting, and much more. There are several theme trails: the Vrbje Eco-Learning Trail, the Healthy Heart Walking Trail, the Trail along the Savinja River and a part of the Hop Trail.
Visitors can also admire the open-air gallery of wooden sculptures created by the local sculptor Vinko Kovačec.
The perimeter around the Vrbje pond is a Natura 2000 area, which is a European network of ecologically significant natural areas intended for the conservation of important plant and animal species and habitat types.
Upon arrangement with the Žalec TIC, you can also get a local tourist guide to help you discover the secrets and peculiarities of the pond and its surroundings.
Children between 4 and 12 years can celebrate their birthdays there, and in May, June and September, children can attend free workshops.
